Taiwan’s Top ads Kings and Queens - Brand Ambassador?

Popularity is really important in order to bring up the brand. There have a lot of brand who use artist as their brand ambassador. The question is, does it really help? Sometime, I saw there have unrelated ads used by marketers. Such as sportsman become the ambassador of stationary.

I did not denied that it is good to use artist or someone who are popular as brand ambassador but it will be great if it is related. For example a celebrity chef become the brand ambassador for cooking oil or smart students who receive good result in SPM be the ambassador for stationary product.

Jolin Tsai (蔡依林) has finally beat ex-lover Jay Chou (周杰倫) by topping the 2011 product endorsement chart among Taiwan celebrities.

The 31-year-old singer made NT$460 million ($15 million) alone from shooting 21 TV commercials.

Jay ranked second with 10 commercials, that earned him NT$380 million.

Show Luo’s (羅志祥) popularity is surging across the Taiwan Strait. He closely followed Jay in third place by pocketing NT$350 million, with 15 commercials.

Actress Shu Qi (舒淇) ranked fourth with NT$270 million from 15 commercials.

Her rumored lover Wang Lee-hom (王力宏) ranked fifth with NT$250 million from 15 commercials.

Takeshi Kaneshiro (金城武) ranked sixth with NT$150 million from six commercials.

Rainie Yang (楊丞琳) ranked seventh with NT$130 million from 14 commercials.

Elva Hsiao (蕭亞軒) ranked the eighth with NT$120 million from six commercials.

Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄) was the ninth with NT$100 million from 12 commercials.

Hidden Gem Photo Talk Series #1 is Over by Creative Visual Studio - Concert Photography

Creative Visual Studio Hidden Gem Photo Talk Series #1 is just over. Total of 13 people who came over to our studio is really make me wanna to plan our next TT session. We called it as "Hidden Gem Photo Talk" because we believe that there have a lot of good photographer outside there that can help some of the photographer who want to gain extra knowledge.

We are going to continue our "Hidden Gem Photo Talk" activity monthly. Apart of that, we gonna have our 1st photoshooting outing at the middle of every month starting on January 2012.

Since our main topic is about concert photography, Azrin and Jonathan share their experience and also the setting that they used. 2 ways communication is involved in this TT session so that a most of the participants have a clear picture of the concert photography knowledge.

Shower Gels Get Nude and Lathered Up - Why do Marketers Need a Proper Marketing Strategy?

If you ask me about China/Chinese, I really respect some of them. I respect the way how they do work. Some of them can create "nothing" to "something". Transform "impossible" to "possible". Actually I just come back from Genting not to have fun but working. At first I thought the Genting trip gonna be another ordinary outstation job. However, I change my mind and take another step by to understand how Resort World can be so success. Rather than I spend my time to have fun in theme park after my work, I walk around to gain some knowledge. I learn so much from them. A lot of idea came into my mind for me to improve my business. Hope everything will turn out good =)

As usual, while play around with my laptop, I saw one of the latest promotion that happened in China. It is about the shower gel promotion.

"Shower gel gels get nude and lathered up"

"A Chinese company hired three young ladies to appear totally naked to promote its shower gel products. With just towels wrapped around their heads, the beauties lathered themselves up, rubbed themselves down and playfully squirted the audience with water. At one point, male audience members were asked to help apply the gels to the young models nude bodies. The marketing stunt was employed just once, after which the company realized that maybe it wasn’t appropriate."


From my point of view, promotion is really important in order for you to create awareness about your product or services. However, the proper promotion is important in order for you to park your brand reputation in consumer mind. It is really important for you to create a proper promotion and do not always put cost as your main priority. Promotion can help you to increase your profit and at the same time it also can destroy your business. Marketers should have a proper promotion stratergy in order to create a good value in their product or services. Remember, it is your choice how you want customer think about your brand. Business is all about long term and not a short term. Do not blame customer if they missunderstand your message.

2012 NEW YEAR Resolution! - It is All About Your Mindset

It's all about your mindset. If you say no, it wont happen. If you say yes, it will happen and of course the action gonna follow after you say it out.

I am in the middle of improving myself and I would like to invite you guys to be part of it. Starting from now on, do your best first and don't complain (there could be others who could have been in a much worse condition than us). Sometimes, we do have a negative thinking mindset. Like to jumping into a conclusion without trying. 'Can't do that' 'It's hard' 'Don't make my life difficult' Everything is starts from the inside. If the first thing that come into your mind is impossible, it will be 'impossible'. Don't put a barrier to yourself when you haven't tried it yet. However, if you think that you can do it everything will goes smoothly and you will  eventually achieve a better result.  I never believe in luck and I believe that working hard  will lead me to achieve the my goals (sometimes I blame my luck too). Since 2012 is just around the corner, why don't we start setting up our own goals and resolutions? Since every year we set our own resolutions but some of it we fail or we do not put effort on it. Write it down on black and white, add on a plan tell the whole world. That's sounds better right? At least we know how we wanna achieve our goal and friends that would remind you of it =)

Recently, trouble stuck me over the roof. Not only financially but also other matters. (sien =.=) I've sent my car to the workshop for major repairs and it burnt a hole in my wallet (all the notes got little wings flying out). I got chased out by my landlord because of some petty misunderstanding which isn't my doing. Haiz, life is never fair. Plus, my camera lens was stuck with Canon for more than 1 month, some internal staff administration problem etc...  Everything happened within 3 days. I've guessed that I've found a new number that I don't want to be reminded of. Imagine that you're homeless, transport-less (except legs) to go work etc. I nearly wanted to jump over the wall~~. People do not know how much I have been through. I still remembered that I reached up to one point where I only eat maggie all of the time and but most of the time I ate flour + egg. That was another hurdle that I had to go through  last time. However, I told myself, 'Why should I give up?' 'I've reached this far from backing down' It is all about mindset. If I give up now, what else can I do? I'm not from a well-to-do background, nor am I that smart. So, yeah.. why should I give up?

Yesterday, I needed to set up my new office studio in Puchong. I walked all the way from Bandar Sunway to Puchong around 7km (40 minute) and come back at night another 7km (1hour) and I did not feel tired. Since I know that 'my new office  is VERY NEAR' (10 mins drive). As what I said, it is all about your mindset. If you think you can do it, then you will achieve your target. Of course action and proper plan must take place too.

The United Buddy Bears promote living together in peace and harmony on their global tour. Attended the launch of the United Buddy Bears exhibition at Pavilion KL few days ago, under the patronage of the Sultan of Selangor as well as with the support of the Kuala Lumpur Mayor, Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail.

143 bears are being displayed right at the entrance of Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Bukit Bintang. There will be numerous charity activities taking place during the weeks of the exhibition. The programme of activities will include visits of children from various homes and schoolchildren, colouring activities for children as well as an auction of some of the life-size United Buddy Bears at the end of the exhibition to raise funds for Malaysian children charities.

Major floods occurred during the 2011 monsoon season in Thailand. Provinces located in the Chao Phraya and Mekong River basin, including Bangkok and surrounding neighborhoods were most severely affected directly or indirectly by inundation. Flooding also affected most provinces in Thailand's south. Flooding began around July 2011, and continued into December 2011.

Stuck in Traffic Jam with Spritzer

I need to admit that work as a photographer is really drive me to crazy especially I always receive assignment that require me to travel around. Taylor's Lakeside Campus CommFest 2011

Back to November, I attended Taylor's Lakeside Campus Comm Fest 2011.

It is all about communication festival. This year, they brought a social media into real world. From facebook, twitter and every networking site you can enjoy it LIVE! Full with games, music and performance by our very own talented Taylor's students. 

As a Taylor's students, I really proud with the effort that they put in in order to make the event successful.

The theme for this year's CommFest is 'Log Off for Humanity, Log On to Reality'.

Its objectives are to encourage face-to-face interactions within the social community, and to gather youths to connect and communicate via both new media and face-to-face communication.

Bienvenue sur Allo Paris - No Boundaries Just Fusion

Thanks to Blup Blup once again for invitation to Allo Paris restaurant. Indeed it is a very romantic place to have a dinner here with your family and of course your beloved ones too.


I wonder why the owner Bryan Koh would name this restaurant under the name Allo Paris. So, basically Allo means ‘Hello’ or Welcome and Paris usually is the international country icon for romantic.


Maybe Allo Paris would mean welcome to a romantic restaurant?

BIZZY BODY - Worst Event Management + Malaysian Timing

I always tell myself that complaining would not solve a problem. Rather than complaining continuously, why not we take action? Rather than asking other people to change their attitude, why not we change our own attitude? I always tell myself that if you are on time, it means that you are late. In Malaysia, there's something called "Malaysian Time" where "late" is a norm. I just don’t get why some people can even proud of it.

Last Sunday I went to an event by Bizzy Body held in Sunway Pyramid. I reached there on time and left the event before it even started. Why? Because I received an email from the organizer stating that the event starts at 5.30pm. So, I’ve already arranged my time properly to fit 3 meetings and 2 photoshoot sessions. However, everything did not turn out as what I have planned.

I was supposed to have a photoshoot in Mont Kiara in the afternoon but it was cancelled at the last minute. There was a client who used my studio HERE! from morning until 3pm and I rushed back to my home to catch my 4.30pm meeting. Once I reached home, I received another email from Bizzy Body stating that the event is not 5.30pm but at 4.30pm. Since I had a meeting at 4.30pm in Mont Kiara, I decided to change it to the Sunway Pyramid so that I can attend all of my meetings and the event. Since the event change their time from 5.30pm to 4.30pm, I called my client to postpone the meeting to 9pm. I reached the event on time and guess what? The event only start at 6.30pm

I was really disappointed. Some of the problem were:
1) The changes of timing was really last minute.
2) Waited for almost 2 hours without any announcement. From 4.30pm till almost 6.30pm.
3) The media/bloggers need to "beg" for our chair.
4) Vouchers from A Cut Above (main sponsor) expire on the day of the event and only available in Mid Valley when the event ended around 8pm++ in Sunway Pyramid.
5) There's no follow up email. At least they send us an email to apologize or give us explanation etc.

I tried to keep a positive thought. However, it was hard to control yourself when you’re really pissed off. So, I decided to just get my butt off from the event and grab some dessert.
