"All life demands struggle. Those
who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive
to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so
constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are
today." - Ralph Ransom
A
lot of people asked me how was my 16 Days Indonesia trip. Last May, I
went down to Indonesia for 16 Days
(KL-Jakarta-Bandung-Jakarta-Yogjakarta-Semarang-Surabaya-KL). It was
really a great experience for me to travel alone & have a few
meetings over there. It was my 1st step to go into the Indonesian
market. Thanks god it was really worth it.
I will be staying in Jakarta for a month by the end of this month. Do let me know if you're interested to join me. I will be there for some business stuff. Although I grew up in Singapore for the past 22 years, I actually want to settle down over there. Once I got to know Indonesia, especially Jakarta... Hell NO! I prefer Jakarta :)
Let's cut the grandma story and focus on my 1st day in Jakarta. The day before my trip, I did not have time to sleep at all. I thought I can sleep during my flight since I was rushing to prepare the paperwork for my 1st meeting.

Thanks to PUMA Malaysia
who gave me a pouch for me to keep my important belongings. I did not
bring a lot of cash since I planned to use my credit card over there.
Well, it's kinda useful for me since it was my first time to Jakarta. I
wasn't not sure what was waiting for me over there, so safety first.
I
left Malaysia around 7am. I missed my bus (from One Utama to LCCT), but
thanks to my friend, Vincent who sent me all the way down to LCCT. Not
to mention they almost closed the gate too. Spent most of my time during
the flight playing games with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7
:D Since I read a lot of reviews regarding the famous Air Asia Nasi
Lemak, so I gave it a try. I'm not sure if it's me or the food, but it
was kinda tasteless. Maybe there were too many things playing around my
mind.

Touched down Jakarta at roughly 9am and I really wanna thank Explura
who prepared my accommodations. Yup, they are the one who provide my
accommodations... for the entire trip. I was kinda lost when I reached
the Jakarta airport. Luckily I signed up for Flexiroam
earlier. I can have UNLIMITED FREE call from RM10 per day. Cool huh?!
Thanks to Helga who waited for me in Jakarta Airport & brought
me out of that place.
I
was not really excited for the trip even though I was already in
Jakarta... I was just excited with my meeting. I went down to Pluit,
because my hotel was located somewhere over there & I choose to
take Blue Bird Taxi. So far, Blue Bird is the most trusted taxi company.
It costed me IDR70k. Since my check in time is 2pm, I took "Tuk Tuk"
from hotel to the nearest shopping mall, Sogo. Will talk more in my next
blog post about why I love Jakarta shopping mall MORE THAN
MALAYSIA/SINGAPORE shopping malls ;p
It's
really nice hotel.. at least.. from the outside lol. I do not like the
smell of the hotel.. Smelt something like when you keep your wet clothes
for a week.. Imagine the smell! But for this kind of 3 star hotel, it's
good enough. You can check HERE for the hotel that I stayed during the Indonesia trip. Lucky I only stay for 1 night only. It's Sanno Hotel.
Somehow
I love the size of the room. Kinda big. My room is Grand Deluxe with
In-Room WiFi (IDR 785,000) The most important part is toilet. It's big
& clean enough for me. Love it :) Lucky my room did not have
weird smell.
Cool huh? Thanks Explura & Thrishtan who helped me to arrange everything.

Basically
this is the usual stuff you can see in Indonesia. Well, I can say they
are kinda creative. This is Indonesia "warung" style.
1st
thing came into my mind, Indonesia damn freaking poor. I do not think I
can make any profit if I stay in Indonesia. Well, I couldn't have been
more wrong. Why? Stay tuned to my next blog post.
My
1st meal before the meeting. Some kind of Kebab from one of their food
court, Sogo. I was kinda shocked with their shopping mall! OMG! I'm so
excited to share with you guys on my next blog post :D:D:D:D:D
Meeting
went smoothly and we won the tender... Even though it is just a small
project, but it is our 1st opportunity. Ended my day with some nice
food. Since my staff know that I really love duck, she brought me to one
of the famous duck food stall. Located nearby my hotel. Imagine a plate
of rice + 10 pcs of Satay + half duck + ice tea, and they only costed
me at IDR20k!!!
Done with Day 1. Day 2 coming soon!
