1 Malaysia Book Voucher - Which Bookstore You Should Go Redeem?

I believe that a lot of people have already gotten their 1 Malaysia Book Vouchers. So did I. I would like to thank my friend, Fiona Chan who helped me to collect my vouchers :') Some of you still haven't redeem your vouchers yet and let me give my two cents on which bookstore you should go redeem. There are a lot of giant bookstores in the market and all of them are competing with each other. In business, marketers like to attract customers with interesting advertisements. As consumers, we need to put a little bit effort to survey and compare all of the competitors in order for us to benefit more.

I dropped by Popular Bookstore since I saw their huge banner regarding 1 Malaysia Book Voucher redemption. It is really a good marketing strategy where it’s easy to be spotted by customers. Even though I seldom shop in Popular bookstore, I decided to drop by and see what they can offer me.

I spent more than 1 hour to find a book that I wanted to purchase but I could not find it. So, I decided to go MPH, a place where usually I purchase my book. Just by looking at their counter, you know that there are a lot of people wanting to redeem their voucher. So, let us see what’s Popular Bookstore terms and condition for 1 Malaysia Book Voucher and also their promotion.

Terms and conditions:
1: Voucher cant be redeem on behalf of other people. The owner must be presented.
2: Must show them your IC & student ID.
3: You only can purchase stationary (based on your course), references book, journal, academic book and "majalah ilmiah" only.

My point of view:
Let's see how much the is membership worth. Subscription Fees for Popular Student Card 2-years is RM10.00. Means that RM5 per year. With the RM150 voucher that you spend, you will earn a "rebate" RM5. Apart of that, you only can purchase stationary (based on your course), references book, journal, academic book and "majalah ilmiah" only. You could not able to purchase magazine or biography or even motivational book. Now let’s look at the membership card. The discount that provided is from 10% to 30%. For example, in the future, if you purchase stationary worth RM10, you only can get rebate around RM1 and not all products can get the rebate. You will earn point. That depends on our behavioral. How many times you guys go Popular Bookstore and purchase stuff from there?

Conclusion:
This promotion is really good for those who are still studying SPM and below. They need more stuff such as reference books, stationeries, etc. Having a membership card will give extra benefit to them because they can get discount on the stuff that they purchase. Apart of that, there are a lot of things that you can purchase in Popular Bookstore.

Since I could not find my book, I went to MPH bookstore. However, there are less people there compared than Popular Bookstore. Their advertising made it very hard to know if MPH accept 1 Malaysia Book Voucher or not. I went inside and it only took me less than 15 minutes for me to find my book that I wanted to purchase. I also found out that MPH offers better stuffs compared to Popular Bookstore. Let's look their terms and condition and also their promotion.

My point of view:
Since I wanted to purchase some motivational book and marketing book, I decided to visit MPH Bookstore. When it comes to pricing, MPH Bookstore is slightly more expensive than Popular Bookstore. However, I’m a loyal customer of MPH Bookstore because I love the way they arrange their books and the quality of books that they sell. For me, I choose quality over quantity. So, I do not mind to spend extra $$ as long I can save my time and get quality stuff. Apart of that, MPH Bookstore offer RM5 for every RM100 1 Malaysia Book Voucher that you redeem. Most of people receive RM200 1 Malaysia Book Voucher and if you spend all in MPH, you will earn rebate RM10. Much better compared to Popular Bookstore.

Conclusion:
This promotion is really good for those who are going to visit MPH Bookstore again. Apart of that, for those who are looking forward to purchase something that aren’t related to your study such as motivational book, biography, magazine etc, this is definitely the place you should go to.

History of My Car - What Kind of Car Should You Get?

When it comes to investment, I always told myself to invest on something that will give me profits such as properties and stock market. Most of my friends and relatives know that I have been using my Kancil (1st generation 660cc) for quite some time. The worst part is maintenance. Since I am not a good driver, I’m always involved in accidents. So, most of my money are spent on repairing and maintaining my car.

For those who want to purchase a car, you may want to consider few things such as:

- Your monthly income.
- Do you really need it?

- Purpose of having a car.
- How much you afford to pay monthly?

- Knowledge about the car such as maintenance etc.

I would like to thank to my friends and clients who believe in my work: photography and blogging. I finally managed to purchase my own car. Decided to purchase Viva 1000cc since I travel a lot. I really need a car with high cc and able to travel far. After doing some survey, I’ve decided that Perodua Viva is my choice. I paid a high down payment so now I only need to pay the RM200 monthly installment.Well, that's what I can only afford. I do not think I should talk a lot about Viva, you can get all the detail from their website.

Dad bought me a Honda City. It is a really good car. However, this car does not belong to me even though it is under my name. I used it for few weeks and returned it to my dad so that he can use this car. I want to drive my own car that I purchased with my own money. At least my parents can use it =)

This Kancil serve me well. Serve me and my family more than 10 years. I still remember the day when my dad gave me.. Right after I take over, I involving with a lot of accident HAHA..Now, you can stay clean and "healthy" in Johor =)

So, this car gonna serve me for at least the next 3 years. The next thing I gonna to invest is my business and properties.

Why Photographer Should Charge High Price for Accommodation?

When we talk about wedding photography, most people tend to think that it is a simple task. I'm not talking about pricing, "photographer-killing-market" or other stuffs. In this blog post, I just want to talk about one simple yet important thing that people tend to neglect: accommodation. I have been travelling around Malaysia and Singapore for wedding shoots. Whenever I work outstation, I always let my client choose my accommodation since they are more familiar with the area.

Some of the clients I've dealt with before were really kind. For example, one of my previous Singapore clients had their wedding ceremony in Mandarin Oriental Singapore, and they gave me an extra room there. It was luxurious. Unfortunately, I have also faced some problems such as where my client made me stay in very cheap and bad hotel. I know that everyone wants to cut cost, when it comes to purchasing our wedding photography package, they tend to choose the lowest priced package. The thing is, accommodation is very important, and some people do not see the importance of a good accommodation. The quality of the accommodation will influence the mood of the photographer, and thus the quality of the photographs.

As photographers, we are not demanding 5-stars or a high class hotel. What we want is a decent hotel that is safe and comfortable. It should not be the kind of cheap "roadside hotel". Here's an example to make it clearer. I had to sleep in an uncomfortable room when I went to Terengganu for a wedding shoot. The room was really bad, the toilet was dirty, the bed was in a bad condition and it made my body ache. I was not in a good mood the next day, how do you expect me to take good photos? Another thing to consider the the "hotel area", or in other words, their own parking lot. Due to the lack of a proper parking lot, my friend's car was fined because we parked in front of the hotel. It's not just that, what if your camera was robbed? Since the hotel does not have a proper parking lot, they would not be responsible if anything happens. All the photos and videos would be gone too. What now? Is your client going to organize another wedding ceremony just for that?

From the point of view of a photographer who has been shooting for wedding ceremonies for more than two years, I just want to voice out how I feel about this. Every time I close a deal with my client, I need to explain everything. Not just for wedding, but any project that requires me to go outstation too.

Dear clients, remember to think twice. Are you sure you want to save money and risk having bad photos for your big day? The bride is never going to forgive you for ruining her big day. - Photo taken from Google.

“Steve Jobs” Raises Laughs from The Grave

Was online and saw this article. However, I felt that Ken do not supposed to dress up like Steve Jobs in order to promote Action Pad. It is kinda disrespectful.

"No sooner has Steve Jobs passed away than a savvy Taiwanese computer firm called Action Electronics has put out a TV ad with a local actor named Ah-ken (阿Ken). Posing as Steve he hawks a new product called “Action Pad.” In the popular commercial, the apparently born-again Steve sports the Apple CEO’s famous black T-shirt and blue jeans, in addition to a white-haired wig with angel wings on his back and a halo.

The tablet computer ad is meant to be both funny and humorous — and it’s respectful of Steve while also a bit weird at the same time. And it plays well in Taiwan. How well it will play overseas on the Internet once word gets out is another thing entirely. In a way, it’s a bit disrespectful of a man who just recently passed away, and while death and dying have different meanings in non-religious Taiwan, there’s a time for humor and a time for respect.

The jury is still out on this ad, but it’s sure to raise some eyebrows, once it goes viral on the Internet. Who is Ah-Ken, you ask? When he first entered the entertainment industry in Taiwan, he had an experience he will never forget. In an effort to gain more acting opportunities, Ah-Ken was once hit on the head 30 times with a large plate by a local TV producer. Upon returning home, Ah-Ken asked his mom to make sure to wake him from his sleep, fearing that he might suffer a concussion and never wake up. He did wake up. However, what this incident did to his sense of judgment and respect for ”recently deceased people” is another thing entirely.

FREEZE - Ice Magician at Genting International Showroom!

I believe that some of you keep asking me why I always go up to Genting? Recently, my production house had a few projects there. One day, I was invited by Resorts World Genting to witness their new show based on Ice theme. Basically, it is all about Magic & Entertainment known as 'FREEZE'.

Since I have a meeting in Genting on the same day, why not? =)

My buffet dinner was served at Coffee Terrace Genting and by 9PM sharp, the show started at Genting International Showroom!

Every time when you talk about Magic, it always reminds me of Zlwin. One of my friend who is very talented in magic performance.

Comedian magician and violinist who make the magic performance not too serious. This kind of performance is the kind that people would want to watch. Especially people like me, who just finished a meeting and tired. I want something that’s not too heavy, but really interesting at the same time.

They are really amazing! They can simply fly here and there without thinking twice. They are made use of silk and their own thighs and fly around. They spun so fast and in so many degrees and angles! Try to imagine, flying in the sky like fan non-stop haha.

Guess what? Few days ago, something had just arrived my studio. I always wanted my own bean bags and finally, I have huge bean bags. It is very important to have a comfortable office/studio in order to make my time and work more productive. Of course, without any necessity with a very luxurious furnishing and decor, my studio had more than enough to be comfortable. 

If you asked me about the quality of bean bags, they are all made with Faux leather and those bean bags are most probably the size of your single bed mattress. It is 180cm x 140cm in size! How big! Actually, they have polyester and cotton too but I prefer faux leather. Let me briefly explain what is Faux leather as many had asked me what is that. Faux leather basically is an artificial leather in which has the highest quality as compared to any other fake leather. In fact, it doesn’t feel fake. It feels almost like a real leather itself, despite the smell.

See.. I told you.. Ok.. now I know what my staffs do when I’m busy doing my work inside my room!

Actually two people can sit on the bean bag at the same time. In the future, I’m gonna get LED TV & PS3 for my studio. I bet it’s gonna be much more comfortable to watch TV or play games. So, what’s so good about bean bags? Well, to give you a brief answer, I would say one word, flexibility. What do I mean? Bean bag is made off with its flexibility to bend, to form any kind of shapes you want with limitation. But it is still a cool thing though.

Hennessy NyX Launch Party at Vertigo The Gardens Mall!

Hennessy V.S.O.P. Privilege Collection NyX was launched on January 5, 2012 with a ~mysterious party~. It was an invite-only party and the location was kept a mystery (hence a mysterious party) until we were ready to go in.

We registered ourselves at their booth and then we were directed to the *secret* location by their girls dress in futuristic outfit, complete with white wigs. They were pretty hard to miss.

The mystery location was....Vertigo! :D

Well on the party itself, some of those futuristic girls were dancing and/or holding their privilege NyX bottle. The waiters walked around serving glasses and glasses of free Hennessy!
