I believe that a lot of people have already gotten their 1 Malaysia Book Vouchers. So did I. I would like to thank my friend, Fiona Chan who helped me to collect my vouchers :') Some of you still haven't redeem your vouchers yet and let me give my two cents on which bookstore you should go redeem. There are a lot of giant bookstores in the market and all of them are competing with each other. In business, marketers like to attract customers with interesting advertisements. As consumers, we need to put a little bit effort to survey and compare all of the competitors in order for us to benefit more.

I dropped by Popular Bookstore since I saw their huge banner regarding 1 Malaysia Book Voucher redemption. It is really a good marketing strategy where it’s easy to be spotted by customers. Even though I seldom shop in Popular bookstore, I decided to drop by and see what they can offer me.

I spent more than 1 hour to find a book that I wanted to purchase but I could not find it. So, I decided to go MPH, a place where usually I purchase my book. Just by looking at their counter, you know that there are a lot of people wanting to redeem their voucher. So, let us see what’s Popular Bookstore terms and condition for 1 Malaysia Book Voucher and also their promotion.

Terms and conditions:
1: Voucher cant be redeem on behalf of other people. The owner must be presented.
2: Must show them your IC & student ID.
3: You only can purchase stationary (based on your course), references book, journal, academic book and "majalah ilmiah" only.
4: Voucher can be used before 31.03.12

Promotion:
FREE Popular membership card for 1 year.

My point of view:
Let's see how much the is membership worth. Subscription Fees for Popular Student Card 2-years is RM10.00. Means that RM5 per year. With the RM150 voucher that you spend, you will earn a "rebate" RM5. Apart of that, you only can purchase stationary (based on your course), references book, journal, academic book and "majalah ilmiah" only. You could not able to purchase magazine or biography or even motivational book. Now let’s look at the membership card. The discount that provided is from 10% to 30%. For example, in the future, if you purchase stationary worth RM10, you only can get rebate around RM1 and not all products can get the rebate. You will earn point. That depends on our behavioral. How many times you guys go Popular Bookstore and purchase stuff from there?

Conclusion:
This promotion is really good for those who are still studying SPM and below. They need more stuff such as reference books, stationeries, etc. Having a membership card will give extra benefit to them because they can get discount on the stuff that they purchase. Apart of that, there are a lot of things that you can purchase in Popular Bookstore.

Since I could not find my book, I went to MPH bookstore. However, there are less people there compared than Popular Bookstore. Their advertising made it very hard to know if MPH accept 1 Malaysia Book Voucher or not. I went inside and it only took me less than 15 minutes for me to find my book that I wanted to purchase. I also found out that MPH offers better stuffs compared to Popular Bookstore. Let's look their terms and condition and also their promotion.

However, I’m a loyal customer of MPH Bookstore because I love the way they arrange their books and the quality of books that they sell. For me, I choose quality over quantity. So, I do not mind to spend extra $$ as long I can save my time and get quality stuff. Apart of that, MPH Bookstore offer RM5 for every RM100 1 Malaysia Book Voucher that you redeem. Most of people receive RM200 1 Malaysia Book Voucher and if you spend all in MPH, you will earn rebate RM10. Much better compared to Popular Bookstore.

Conclusion:
This promotion is really good for those who are going to visit MPH Bookstore again. Apart of that, for those who are looking forward to purchase something that aren’t related to your study such as motivational book, biography, magazine etc, this is definitely the place you should go to.

History of My Car - What Kind of Car Should You Get?

When it comes to investment, I always told myself to invest on something that will give me profits such as properties and stock market. Most of my friends and relatives know that I have been using my Kancil (1st generation 660cc) for quite some time. The worst part is maintenance. Since I am not a good driver, I’m always involved in accidents. So, most of my money are spent on repairing and maintaining my car.

For those who want to purchase a car, you may want to consider few things such as:
- Your budget.
- Your monthly income.
- Do you really need it?

- Purpose of having a car.
- How much you afford to pay monthly?

- How much you need to spend monthly?
- Knowledge about the car such as maintenance etc.

I would like to thank to my friends and clients who believe in my work: photography and blogging. I finally managed to purchase my own car. Decided to purchase Viva 1000cc since I travel a lot. I really need a car with high cc and able to travel far. After doing some survey, I’ve decided that Perodua Viva is my choice. I paid a high down payment so now I only need to pay the RM200 monthly installment.Well, that's what I can only afford. I do not think I should talk a lot about Viva, you can get all the detail from their website.

Dad bought me a Honda City. It is a really good car. However, this car does not belong to me even though it is under my name. I used it for few weeks and returned it to my dad so that he can use this car. I want to drive my own car that I purchased with my own money. At least my parents can use it =)

This Kancil serve me well. Serve me and my family more than 10 years. I still remember the day when my dad gave me.. Right after I take over, I involving with a lot of accident HAHA..Now, you can stay clean and "healthy" in Johor =)

So, this car gonna serve me for at least the next 3 years. The next thing I gonna to invest is my business and properties.

Why Photographer Should Charge High Price for Accommodation?

When we talk about wedding photography, most people tend to think that it is a simple task. I'm not talking about pricing, "photographer-killing-market" or other stuffs. In this blog post, I just want to talk about one simple yet important thing that people tend to neglect: accommodation. I have been travelling around Malaysia and Singapore for wedding shoots. Whenever I work outstation, I always let my client choose my accommodation since they are more familiar with the area.

Some of the clients I've dealt with before were really kind. For example, one of my previous Singapore clients had their wedding ceremony in Mandarin Oriental Singapore, and they gave me an extra room there. It was luxurious. Unfortunately, I have also faced some problems such as where my client made me stay in very cheap and bad hotel. I know that everyone wants to cut cost, when it comes to purchasing our wedding photography package, they tend to choose the lowest priced package. The thing is, accommodation is very important, and some people do not see the importance of a good accommodation. The quality of the accommodation will influence the mood of the photographer, and thus the quality of the photographs.

As photographers, we are not demanding 5-stars or a high class hotel. What we want is a decent hotel that is safe and comfortable. It should not be the kind of cheap "roadside hotel". Here's an example to make it clearer. I had to sleep in an uncomfortable room when I went to Terengganu for a wedding shoot. The room was really bad, the toilet was dirty, the bed was in a bad condition and it made my body ache. I was not in a good mood the next day, how do you expect me to take good photos? Another thing to consider the the "hotel area", or in other words, their own parking lot. Due to the lack of a proper parking lot, my friend's car was fined because we parked in front of the hotel. It's not just that, what if your camera was robbed? Since the hotel does not have a proper parking lot, they would not be responsible if anything happens. All the photos and videos would be gone too. What now? Is your client going to organize another wedding ceremony just for that?

From the point of view of a photographer who has been shooting for wedding ceremonies for more than two years, I just want to voice out how I feel about this. Every time I close a deal with my client, I need to explain everything. Not just for wedding, but any project that requires me to go outstation too.

Dear clients, remember to think twice. Are you sure you want to save money and risk having bad photos for your big day? The bride is never going to forgive you for ruining her big day. - Photo taken from Google.

“Steve Jobs” Raises Laughs from The Grave

Was online and saw this article. However, I felt that Ken do not supposed to dress up like Steve Jobs in order to promote Action Pad. It is kinda disrespectful.

"No sooner has Steve Jobs passed away than a savvy Taiwanese computer firm called Action Electronics has put out a TV ad with a local actor named Ah-ken (阿Ken). Posing as Steve he hawks a new product called “Action Pad.” In the popular commercial, the apparently born-again Steve sports the Apple CEO’s famous black T-shirt and blue jeans, in addition to a white-haired wig with angel wings on his back and a halo.

The tablet computer ad is meant to be both funny and humorous — and it’s respectful of Steve while also a bit weird at the same time. And it plays well in Taiwan. How well it will play overseas on the Internet once word gets out is another thing entirely. In a way, it’s a bit disrespectful of a man who just recently passed away, and while death and dying have different meanings in non-religious Taiwan, there’s a time for humor and a time for respect.

The jury is still out on this ad, but it’s sure to raise some eyebrows, once it goes viral on the Internet. Who is Ah-Ken, you ask? When he first entered the entertainment industry in Taiwan, he had an experience he will never forget. In an effort to gain more acting opportunities, Ah-Ken was once hit on the head 30 times with a large plate by a local TV producer. Upon returning home, Ah-Ken asked his mom to make sure to wake him from his sleep, fearing that he might suffer a concussion and never wake up. He did wake up. However, what this incident did to his sense of judgment and respect for ”recently deceased people” is another thing entirely.

FREEZE - Ice Magician at Genting International Showroom!

I believe that some of you keep asking me why I always go up to Genting? Recently, my production house had a few projects there. One day, I was invited by Resorts World Genting to witness their new show based on Ice theme. Basically, it is all about Magic & Entertainment known as 'FREEZE'.

Since I have a meeting in Genting on the same day, why not? =)

My buffet dinner was served at Coffee Terrace Genting and by 9PM sharp, the show started at Genting International Showroom!

Every time when you talk about Magic, it always reminds me of Zlwin. One of my friend who is very talented in magic performance.

Comedian magician and violinist who make the magic performance not too serious. This kind of performance is the kind that people would want to watch. Especially people like me, who just finished a meeting and tired. I want something that’s not too heavy, but really interesting at the same time.

They are really amazing! They can simply fly here and there without thinking twice. They are made use of silk and their own thighs and fly around. They spun so fast and in so many degrees and angles! Try to imagine, flying in the sky like fan non-stop haha.

Guess what? Few days ago, something had just arrived my studio. I always wanted my own bean bags and finally, I have huge bean bags. It is very important to have a comfortable office/studio in order to make my time and work more productive. Of course, without any necessity with a very luxurious furnishing and decor, my studio had more than enough to be comfortable.

If you asked me about the quality of bean bags, they are all made with Faux leather and those bean bags are most probably the size of your single bed mattress. It is 180cm x 140cm in size! How big! Actually, they have polyester and cotton too but I prefer faux leather. Let me briefly explain what is Faux leather as many had asked me what is that. Faux leather basically is an artificial leather in which has the highest quality as compared to any other fake leather. In fact, it doesn’t feel fake. It feels almost like a real leather itself, despite the smell.

See.. I told you.. Ok.. now I know what my staffs do when I’m busy doing my work inside my room!

Actually two people can sit on the bean bag at the same time. In the future, I’m gonna get LED TV & PS3 for my studio. I bet it’s gonna be much more comfortable to watch TV or play games. So, what’s so good about bean bags? Well, to give you a brief answer, I would say one word, flexibility. What do I mean? Bean bag is made off with its flexibility to bend, to form any kind of shapes you want with limitation. But it is still a cool thing though.

Hennessy NyX Launch Party at Vertigo The Gardens Mall!

Hennessy V.S.O.P. Privilege Collection NyX was launched on January 5, 2012 with a ~mysterious party~. It was an invite-only party and the location was kept a mystery (hence a mysterious party) until we were ready to go in.

We registered ourselves at their booth and then we were directed to the *secret* location by their girls dress in futuristic outfit, complete with white wigs. They were pretty hard to miss.

The mystery location was....Vertigo! :D

Well on the party itself, some of those futuristic girls were dancing and/or holding their privilege NyX bottle. The waiters walked around serving glasses and glasses of free Hennessy!

Marketing is Like Sex: Everybody Thinks They’re Good at It

While doing some research, found this interesting article. Actually I really like Steve Jobs not because of Apple product but I admire his marketing strategies. I haven't have opportunity to purchase his book yet. I will make sure I have one as my own collection =)

(MoneyWatch) There's hypocrisy in the corporate world that's begging to be called out.

Everybody thinks they're a marketing expert. Your boss, the CEO, the IT guy - I bet half the people in your company think they know more about what customers want than the customers do. Everybody's a focus group of one.

So where's the hypocrisy in that?

Simply put, they should know better. Hell, they do know better. They're smart. They know what one person's opinion is worth. You propose an idea and they want it substantiated, analyzed, and researched, right?

And yet, those same people will turn right around and impose their opinion on you. Hypocrisy.

It's sort of like the old line: those who think they know everything are annoying to those of us who do. But how in the world can you tell the difference between the two? I mean, really.

After all, those people - the ones who shouldn't be imposing their "focus group of one" opinions on you but do it anyway - are often right.

I didn't always see it that way, especially when my CEO was the guy doing the imposing. Then, one day, I realized that - as VP of marketing - I did exactly the same thing. I'd swoop into a meeting and trash everyone's long thought-out plan in favor of my own focus group of one.

And you know, more often than not, I was right. So, again I ask: how can you tell the guy who knows his s**t from the guy who's full of it? Quite a dilemma, isn't it?

Okay, let's see if we can break this down. There's a ginormous difference between the opinion of your average everyday product user and the opinion of someone who really has a knack for that sort of thing. Unfortunately, people don't walk around with big signs on their foreheads telling you which they are.

One thing's for sure. It doesn't always correlate to job title. I mean, your CEO could be a moron or he could be Steve Jobs, right?

Speaking of Steve Jobs, Apple somehow manages to divine what people want, even when they don't know it themselves. They don't use focus groups or research. They're their own focus group, as Jobs explains here:

We did iTunes because we all love music. We made what we thought was the best jukebox in iTunes. Then we all wanted to carry our whole music libraries around with us. The team worked really hard. And the reason that they worked so hard is because we all wanted one. You know? I mean, the first few hundred customers were us.

It's not about pop culture, and it's not about fooling people, and it's not about convincing people that they want something they don't. We figure out what we want. And I think we're pretty good at having the right discipline to think through whether a lot of other people are going to want it, too. That's what we get paid to do.

Papermate InkJoy - Make Your Life Colorful

As a student myself, I understand how pens really play an important role in my 17 years of studying life. All these while I have been using pen to write, I am getting used of it already. Pen is the best medium that most of the people are using until now for writing things down such as jotting down notes or simply writing essays or even scribble on a paper. It works fairly equal to me. I used pen to write and it eventually became a habit. Recently, I was given a whole bunch of pens by Papermate InkJoy for a review.

What I could really comment about is, it was a feeling of beyond satisfaction without exaggeration. I am very happy using them. I was given a whole bunch of pens and each of them was coded differently of ‘RTXXX’ depending on the sizes of the nib.

I can’t actually recall having any cap pens ever since the anytime. I’d always find it very troublesome to remove the cap and put it back after using. InkJoy 100 does not come with rubber grip but it’s triangularly shaped for ease of grip. It comes with 0.5mm & 0.7mm sizes of nibs. But I would personally prefer 0.7mm as it is much easier to write and to use. However, it worth for that value of RM1.

2011 was a blast, and I'm very much looking forward to 2012!

Every year, people set a new resolution. People do asked me, what is my resolution. To be honest, I do not have any resolution because my resolution is keep increasing day by day. Of course when you ask me what is my main resolution, for me is simple. I want to make more money, create a value for myself and be a nice guy =)

2011 teach me a lot of thing. I met a lot of people, people who are really nice to me and even people who back stab me. Well, life is like that. I don't think that I should elaborate what is going on in 2011 because 2011 is history and I live in new world, 2012.

Looking forward to 2012 where I believe there have a lot of thing that I need to do in order for me to achieve my goal. Someone told me, when you want to have a dream, set your target high & big. Never give up! In 2012, Creative Visual Studio will not only available in Malaysia but also we are extending to Singapore and Indonesia. In 2012, we will transform our Creative Visual Studio into a production house. Currently we are 40% complete. Popularity is really important in order to bring up the brand. There have a lot of brand who use artist as their brand ambassador. The question is, does it really help? Sometime, I saw there have unrelated ads used by marketers. Such as sportsman become the ambassador of stationary.

Creative Visual Studio Hidden Gem Photo Talk Series #1 is just over. Total of 13 people who came over to our studio is really make me wanna to plan our next TT session. We called it as "Hidden Gem Photo Talk" because we believe that there have a lot of good photographer outside there that can help some of the photographer who want to gain extra knowledge.

We are going to continue our "Hidden Gem Photo Talk" activity monthly. Apart of that, we gonna have our 1st photoshooting outing at the middle of every month starting on January 2012.

Since our main topic is about concert photography, Azrin and Jonathan share their experience and also the setting that they used. 2 ways communication is involved in this TT session so that a most of the participants have a clear picture of the concert photography knowledge.

If you ask me about China/Chinese, I really respect some of them. I respect the way how they do work. Some of them can create "nothing" to "something". Transform "impossible" to "possible". Actually I just come back from Genting not to have fun but working. At first I thought the Genting trip gonna be another ordinary outstation job. However, I change my mind and take another step by to understand how Resort World can be so success. Rather than I spend my time to have fun in theme park after my work, I walk around to gain some knowledge. I learn so much from them. A lot of idea came into my mind for me to improve my business. Hope everything will turn out good =)

As usual, while play around with my laptop, I saw one of the latest promotion that happened in China. It is about the shower gel promotion.

"Shower gel gels get nude and lathered up"

"A Chinese company hired three young ladies to appear totally naked to promote its shower gel products. With just towels wrapped around their heads, the beauties lathered themselves up, rubbed themselves down and playfully squirted the audience with water. At one point, male audience members were asked to help apply the gels to the young models nude bodies. The marketing stunt was employed just once, after which the company realized that maybe it wasn’t appropriate."

From my point of view, promotion is really important in order for you to create awareness about your product or services. However, the proper promotion is important in order for you to park your brand reputation in consumer mind. It is really important for you to create a proper promotion and do not always put cost as your main priority. Promotion can help you to increase your profit and at the same time it also can destroy your business. Marketers should have a proper promotion stratergy in order to create a good value in their product or services. Remember, it is your choice how you want customer think about your brand. Business is all about long term and not a short term. Do not blame customer if they missunderstand your message.

2012 NEW YEAR Resolution! - It is All About Your Mindset

It's all about your mindset. If you say no, it wont happen. If you say yes, it will happen and of course the action gonna follow after you say it out.

I am in the middle of improving myself and I would like to invite you guys to be part of it. Starting from now on, do your best first and don't complain (there could be others who could have been in a much worse condition than us). Sometimes, we do have a negative thinking mindset. Like to jumping into a conclusion without trying. 'Can't do that' 'It's hard' 'Don't make my life difficult' Everything is starts from the inside. If the first thing that come into your mind is impossible, it will be 'impossible'. Don't put a barrier to yourself when you haven't tried it yet. However, if you think that you can do it everything will goes smoothly and you will eventually achieve a better result. I never believe in luck and I believe that working hard will lead me to achieve the my goals (sometimes I blame my luck too). Since 2012 is just around the corner, why don't we start setting up our own goals and resolutions? Since every year we set our own resolutions but some of it we fail or we do not put effort on it. Write it down on black and white, add on a plan tell the whole world. That's sounds better right? At least we know how we wanna achieve our goal and friends that would remind you of it =)

Recently, trouble stuck me over the roof. Not only financially but also other matters. (sien =.=) I've sent my car to the workshop for major repairs and it burnt a hole in my wallet (all the notes got little wings flying out). I got chased out by my landlord because of some petty misunderstanding which isn't my doing. Haiz, life is never fair. Plus, my camera lens was stuck with Canon for more than 1 month, some internal staff administration problem etc... Everything happened within 3 days. I've guessed that I've found a new number that I don't want to be reminded of. Imagine that you're homeless, transport-less (except legs) to go work etc. I nearly wanted to jump over the wall~~. People do not know how much I have been through. I still remembered that I reached up to one point where I only eat maggie all of the time and but most of the time I ate flour + egg. That was another hurdle that I had to go through last time. However, I told myself, 'Why should I give up?' 'I've reached this far from backing down' It is all about mindset. If I give up now, what else can I do? I'm not from a well-to-do background, nor am I that smart. So, yeah.. why should I give up?

Yesterday, I needed to set up my new office studio in Puchong. I walked all the way from Bandar Sunway to Puchong around 7km (40 minute) and come back at night another 7km (1hour) and I did not feel tired. Since I know that 'my new office is VERY NEAR' (10 mins drive). As what I said, it is all about your mindset. If you think you can do it, then you will achieve your target. Of course action and proper plan must take place too.

Rather than asking other people to change their attitude, why not we change our own attitude? I always tell myself that if you are on time, it means that you are late. In Malaysia, there's something called "Malaysian Time" where "late" is a norm. I just don’t get why some people can even proud of it.

Last Sunday I went to an event by Bizzy Body held in Sunway Pyramid. I reached there on time and left the event before it even started. Why? Because I received an email from the organizer stating that the event starts at 5.30pm. So, I’ve already arranged my time properly to fit 3 meetings and 2 photoshoot sessions. However, everything did not turn out as what I have planned.

I was supposed to have a photoshoot in Mont Kiara in the afternoon but it was cancelled at the last minute. There was a client who used my studio HERE! from morning until 3pm and I rushed back to my home to catch my 4.30pm meeting. Once I reached home, I received another email from Bizzy Body stating that the event is not 5.30pm but at 4.30pm. Since I had a meeting at 4.30pm in Mont Kiara, I decided to change it to the Sunway Pyramid so that I can attend all of my meetings and the event. Since the event change their time from 5.30pm to 4.30pm, I called my client to postpone the meeting to 9pm. I reached the event on time and guess what? The event only start at 6.30pm

I was really disappointed. Some of the problem were:
1) The changes of timing was really last minute.
2) Waited for almost 2 hours without any announcement. From 4.30pm till almost 6.30pm.
3) The media/bloggers need to "beg" for our chair.
4) Vouchers from A Cut Above (main sponsor) expire on the day of the event and only available in Mid Valley when the event ended around 8pm++ in Sunway Pyramid.
5) There's no follow up email. At least they send us an email to apologize or give us explanation etc.

I tried to keep a positive thought. However, it was hard to control yourself when you’re really pissed off. So, I decided to just get my butt off from the event and grab some dessert.

In business, I always told myself that the more you invest, the more profit you will gain. Depending on what investment you talking about. I hate people who slow same goes to myself. I tried to educate myself to be fast and efficient and at the same time to maintain the quality and quantity. For those who read my previous blog post, I believe that you aware that I had my 1st visit to EOS Canon boutique in Subang. Guess what? I really made a good choice by bought this toy because the day after I bought it, the organizer of the event that I supposed to be their official photographer willing to add on extra cash so that their guest can get the photos as souvenir.

Since currently I establish my own photography and cinematography studio, I had a lot of people who invite me to be their official photographer for their event, prom night, party and also their birthday party. I found out that I had a difficulties when most of their guest asked me about the photo. They would love to have it as souvenir. Got this toy with good bargain. Almost RM200 discount XD

After done with some survey regarding the printer, I choose to buy Selphy CP800 due to my limited budget and the quality of the photos. Overall, Selphy CP800 produce quite good quality of the photos and so far my client and I really appreciate it. Basically the Selphy CP800 came with usual stuff such as warranty card, some cable, manual book, printer itself and also the charger.

This is my first time where I step into Puma Showcase room and not only that.. I manage to be one of the witness for the latest PUMA products that would be launch next year probably in April - July.

To be honest. this is my first time to have PUMA product in my house. What can I say is.. PUMA really produce a good product too. From the quality to the design, all are good enough for me. Since the main color of PUMA is white and Red, I really love it. From the shoes to the shirt, I wish my voucher is RM2000 instead of RM200.

Actually, I still thinking of my next lenses. Should I grab 300mm f2.8L or Fisheye 8-15mm f4L (4k+/-) or Tilt-shift (7k+/-). I have my own reason of getting that lens. Hmm...

It is a social club event for social people. So, what is social event that you have in mind? Basically is all about networking + having fun + chilling out. PUMA Social Club Nights had their social event in Cosmic Bowl Midvalley Megamall. Most of the people who attend are the media, bloggers and a host of celebrities. It is really good when I manage to meet up with a lot of new faces and also some of bloggers that I did not met them for quite some time such as Tefanie who I met 2 years back in Friendscino cafe. I am really sorry that I did not remember her but she still remember me.. Awww... so nice of her =)

Dream High Korean Drama Series - Do You Have a Dream?

I just watched Dream High drama series. It is a one of the latest Korean drama that receive very high ranting not only in Seoul but also nationwide. It is about six students who are study in Kirin Art High School that tried very hard to achieve their dreams of becoming music stars in the Korean music industry. Honestly, I am not really a die-hard K-Pop fan. However, this drama is really interesting. The reason why I love to watch this series, it is not only because of the plot, songs and the cast but the most important thing is about the message that they try to deliver.

I learnt that, it is not easy for you to achieve your dream. In order to achieve your dream, you need to work hard on it. The path is never be as easy as we thought. You need to face a lot of obstacle and never give up. Remember, in this life there's always have a lot of people who will support you and at the same time there's other people who will make you fall too. Based on the movie, it is show that they need to face a lot of challenge in order to achieve their dream. When the entire school try to make them lose on their track, they still work hard in order to success and to prove that they can do it.

I learnt that people keep asking and looking for a tips and technique to success. For me, it is too subjective and depending on the situation. Different people have different way. Instead of looking around and find the way how to success, I was busy working on it.

I always believe with 5 things in order to success.
1: Work hard.
2: Push until the limitation.
3: Never give up.
4: Never believe in luck.
5: GOD.

I always told myself that do not depends on other people. In order to success, learning curve is really important. If you do not know, try and learn. I really interested to try something different.. cinematography. However, I have 0% knowledge about video editing. So, this is my first time where I shoot commercial video clip. Basically it is just 3minute video clip.. My pants is totally wet and dirty since it still raining when all of us on the way to Bukit Jalil Park. I shoot, I direct and I act.. haha

Got myself a Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 II USM Ultra Wide Zoom Lens. Since you can simply search it in google, I think I'm not going into details on the technical aspects. I just gonna do a plain simple explanation. Shooting in events such as club and wedding is require me to use wide angle lens and of course to have a bigger aperture is bonus for me.

Bought a new set where it totally burn my wallet. It is cost me at RM4750 and to be honest, I am totally broke. Haven't think of how to survive for this month. One of the reason why I bought this lens because it is in my must-have-lens list. So, the next toy I gonna to hunt is 70-200 f2.8 and 300mm f2.8

Aladdin The Musical Passes to Give Away - 80 Passes!

During my childhood, Aladdin is one of my favourite cartoon show. Especially the blue color genie and the small little monkey. So, as what I promised in my twitter @feeqsays I have 40 pair of passes to give away! If not mistaken, previously I gave away Magical Musical... so.. you really can see that I really love musical right?

It is not 10 or 20 passes but it is 80 passes in total excluding the exclusive meet and greet the cast! Aladdin The Musical will be playing at the Amphitheatre @ Sunway Lagoon from November 25th, 2011 until January 2nd 2012.

The reason is because it will remind me that how old am I. When I look into the mirror, I always ask myself. What I have done and achieve in my life. To be honest, I am not a smart student.

I trying hard to set up a business with my friend and so far everything goes smoothly. Meet up with YB Senator Dato' Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil in Niew Ladies carnival is really make me want to work hard on whatever I want to do. When people busy to go for artist concert, I prefer to go for business workshop. I realize that right now is not a suitable time for me to play around.

Tips to Increase Blog Traffic - 21 Tactics from Randfish

People always asked me how did you increase your blog traffic. Currently, I do receive more traffic from US, UK, Canada etc. instead of Asian. There's have a lot of way to increase your blog traffic that you can learn from internet. One of it is article from Randish. I have been following his article since 2010 and one of his article that I think really helpful is 21 Tactics to Increase Blog Traffic.

Choose the Right Blog Software (or Custom Build)

The right blog CMS makes a big difference. If you want to set yourself apart, I recommend creating a custom blog solution - one that can be completely customized to your users. In most cases, WordPress, Blogger, MovableType or Typepad will suffice, but building from scratch allows you to be very creative with functionality and formatting. The best CMS is something that's easy for the writer(s) to use and brings together the features that allow the blog to flourish. Think about how you want comments, archiving, sub-pages, categorization, multiple feeds and user accounts to operate in order to narrow down your choices. OpenSourceCMS is a very good tool to help you select a software if you go that route.
Different people have different point of view. Some said that Blogger is good and some said that Wordpress is better. I used both and from my point of view Blogger is friendly user compare than Wordpress. However, you can customize your blog with a lot of features by using Wordpress. Host Your Blog Directly on Your Domain

Hosting your blog on a different domain from your primary site is one of the worst mistakes you can make. A blog on your domain can attract links, attention, publicity, trust and search rankings - by keeping the blog on a separate domain, you shoot yourself in the foot. From worst to best, your options are - Hosted (on a solution like Blogspot or Wordpress), on a unique domain (at least you can 301 it in the future), on a subdomain (these can be treated as unique from the primary domain by the engines) and as a sub-section of the primary domain (in a subfolder or page - this is the best solution).

I choose to use .Com because it looks more professional. Whenever I went for a meeting or try to deal with a client, the percentage of your website will be choose by client will increase if you run in your own domain such as .Com or .Net or .My instead of .Wordpress or .Blogspot. One of the example is when you apply a media passes for an event, your website will look much better and professional. However, it is still depends on how your template and blog contains looks like.

Write Title Tags with Two Audiences in Mind

First and foremost, you're writing a title tag for the people who will visit your site or have a subscription to your feed. Title tags that are short, snappy, on-topic and catchy are imperative. You also want to think about search engines when you title your posts, since the engines can help to drive traffic to your blog. A great way to do this is to write the post and the title first, then run a few searches at Overture, WordTracker & KeywordDiscovery to see if there is a phrasing or ordering that can better help you to target "searched for" terms.
Before you want people to read your blog post, you must get people to visit your blog. Creating a good and catchy tittle/topic is one of the way to attract people to read your blog. Please make sure that your tittle is same as your blog contain. I saw a lot of people wrote a lot of good and catchy tittle. However, their contain is fully with crap. Remember, in social media it is all about brand loyalty.

Participate at Related Forums & Blogs

Whatever industry or niche you're in, there are bloggers, forums and an online community that's already active. A great way to find out who these people are is to use Technorati to conduct searches, then sort by number of links (authority). Del.icio.us tags are also very useful in this process, as are straight searches at the engines (Ask.com's blog search in particular is of very good quality).
Social media is not only about blog. It is more than that. Think out of the box and use another platform to promote your blog. If you only depends on Twitter, Facebook and Blog advertising company, it is not enough.

Everyone have their own dream. It is good to have your own dream but how you gonna to achieve it? I have met a lot of people who have a lot of big dream. The question is, do you have a dream deep in your heart that you want to pursue? We live in the real world. There are a lot of obstacles that everyone need to face in order to achieve their dream.

People always tend to do something that impossible. However, I never believe in impossible since the way how you pronounce it also can be "I'm possible". I wish that I am a fairy godmother that could sprinkle fairy dust and grant everyone wish. Oh well... It's time to stop talking about not having a dream and start figuring out what it is and how to achieve it. Be your own fairy godmother.

I do have a friends who join a Miss Universe Malaysia 2012 competition. There have put a lot of effort in order to achieve their dream. Now, they need our help.

Frequently we heard people said "set up a company is easy but to maintain is hard." For me, there's now such thing of easy or hard in business. The only thing you need to do is working hard, put an effort (the more you put, the more you will gain back in return), do not believe in luck, do not give up, push until the limit, break the rules, learn if you do not know and observe your surrounding.

I always told myself that there is no such thing of impossible. Even if you pronounce it properly it will gonna be "I'm possible". Most of people start up their business from small business and it is important for you to know how to manage it. Money is always an issue but issue would not come out if we know what we are doing.

As usual, while surfing an internet I found something that very useful. An article about "5 Ways You May Be Wasting Money In Your Business" by Annie Mueller. She is a freelance writer based in St. Louis. She covers small business topics with a focus on lean/zero budget start-ups, business blogging, and simple (sane) ways business can use social media without selling their souls to Facebook. 1. A bait with no hook

For example: you paid a professional design team to build you a great website. You pay to host it. You pay for somebody to put new content on it (you are putting fresh content on it, right?). Maybe you're paying to get an SEO professional to tweak your website, or you're buying stacks of Google ads to get the traffic to your homepage.

But do your visitors know where to go once they get there?

A stellar website with no conversion funnel is like bait with no hook. You aren't going to catch any fish.

2. Stuck employees and weak teams

What about your employees? These people are the backbone of your business, but if you squelch their natural talents, ignore their strengths and manage them poorly, they will lose all desire to help you succeed.

Who do you have on your team? Do you have a guy who's a little out there, or a gal who's rather hard to manage? Maybe he has great people skills but stinks at time management. Maybe she excels at managing herself but doesn't like being told what to do.

What can you do to put these people in a place where their strengths matter and their weaknesses don't?

Play to their strengths

Put your employees in places where their strengths matter and their weaknesses don't. Give your star sales guy the support he needs to stay on schedule, or give him the freedom to do things on his own time line by providing money-oriented goals rather than time-oriented tasks.

An employee working in areas of strength will bring in more profit than an employee struggling to conquer their weaknesses.

3. Outdated products or poor marketing

Your products need the same analysis. Are they selling? If not, why not? Is the problem in the marketing or in the product itself? Do they need to be repackaged, or is the whole product line simply outdated?

Don't be afraid to let go of what isn't working; that's the only way you'll find out what will work.

4. Resistance to new ideas

A fear of new ideas—and a leadership style that squelches them automatically—will cost you in terms of innovation that could improve your products, services, company image, processes, systems and customer service.

5. Consider the system

Next time you're faced with a new idea, take your time and consider it. And next time you find yourself spending 20 minutes to do a task that should take two, consider the system; is it time to make a change?

The value of simplifying systems is that it allows you to focus on what is important. Detail work shouldn't be part of a complex process, but should be streamlined into a simple routine you can get through quickly.

If you're wasting money, it's not because you're stupid; it's because you're busy in the work of running your business, too busy to stop and consider what you might be losing. But take a moment, step back, look around, make some changes and start making money instead of wasting it. - source

Muay Thai Magazine Photoshoot - Behind the Scenes

Yesterday I just had Muay Thai magazine photoshoot. It is kinda fun to try out something new. This week gonna be my back to back commercial shoot. Had Tazette magazine shoot the day before, yesterday is Muay Thai magazine shoot and today gonna have food product shoot for the new menu. Not too mention gonna shoot for wedding during weekend too.

The photoshoot took 2 hours and it is really fun. The difficult part is when they are fighting. Everything must be fast and mistake is not an option. Thanks to the Muay Thai club who helps me during the photoshoot session.

We play with flour, water, oil, smoke etc to create an effect. I brought 3 studio light but only 2 is working. Somehow there is something wrong with the cable. Oh by the way, I just knew that Muay Thai club do have girls too =)

Smoke effect in progress. All is DIY since I do not have budget to get the smoke machine.

Apple Inc. Failed to Set a New Sales Record

This is the first time in history of Apple Inc, where the stock market drop right after the announcement of iPhone 4S. Apart from that, the iPhone 4S stock market drop once again right after Steve Jobs passed away. Surprisingly, Google stock market is increasing when Apple 4S stock market went down.

There's have a lot of rumors regarding iPhone 5 before the iPhone 4S announcement. People had high expectation towards the Apple Inc. However, one of the reason why iPhone 4S receive more "Nay" instead of "Yay" due to the new features that iPhone 4S had. It is not much improvement other than "copy-android-features". Not too mention that SIRI features create a big joke around the world. Some people said it is pretty cool, some people said it is joker. - iPhone 4S New Features - Worth to Buy?

According to the Peter Svensson who is the Associated Press, Apple Inc. failed to set a new sales record in the last three months of founder and CEO Steve Jobs' life. Its financial results came in below expectations on Tuesday — a rare miss for the company. After several record quarters, the July-to-September period saw Apple biding its time, with no new iPhone or iPad releases.

Net income in the fiscal fourth quarter was $6.62 billion, or $7.05 per share. That was up 54 percent from $4.31 billion, or $4.64 per share, a year ago. Analysts polled by FactSet were expecting earnings of $7.28 per share.

Revenue was $28.3 billion, up 39 percent. Analysts were expecting $29.4 billion.

Apple sold 17.1 million iPhones in the quarter, which ended Sept. 24. That was well below analyst expectations and the 20.3 million sold in the third quarter. IPhone buyers had been holding off and waiting for the new model that was launched last week, after the end of the quarter. Still, analysts expected the older models to keep much of their appeal.

Apple's forecast for the current quarter was more pleasing to investors. It said it expects earnings of $9.30 per share and revenue of $37 billion. Apple usually low-balls its forecasts, and analyst figures are usually higher. But in this case, analysts have had lower figures, expecting earnings of $9 per share and revenue of $36.7 billion.

Jobs relinquished his position as CEO in August, after going on medical leave in January. He died Oct. 5 after years of battling pancreatic cancer.

Apple's stock was down $24.33, or 5.8 percent, at $397.91 in afterhours trading, losing one week of gains. - source

Taylor's World Food Day 2011 - Stop Hunger Now

Last Sunday, I went to World Food Day in Taylor's University Lakeside campus. The main target is to have 1,000,000 food packages to fight hunger on World Food Day. All of the food will be delivered to crisis areas and school feeding programmes around the world, including Somalia. That's awesome right?

Taylor's University initial target was to get 1,000 volunteers. However, more than 4,000 people who had turned up on a Sunday to contribute their time and energy for the benefit of the needy.

Each finished package, which weighed about 370g, had six highly nutritious meals containing rice, soy protein, dried vegetables, flavouring, and 21 essential vitamins and minerals. After putting on their hairnets, volunteers scooped, weighed, packed and sealed food packages at their work stations to the accompaniment of loud pop music. - source

World Hunger Crisis:
Here at Taylor's, they believe strongly in service: not only to our students and our country, but to the world as a whole. Hunger and malnutrition are at the forefront of urgent problems in the world today, especially with the current Somalian crisis. Over a billion people on our earth go hungry every day, and malnutrition plays a role in more than half of all childhood deaths. We believe that this is a severe and urgent problem. More importantly, we believe that all of us are part of the solution.

Thus, Taylor's Education Group (TEG) has pledged to pack and donate 1,000,000 meals through TEG World Food Day, when we will hold a series of Meal Packaging Events at Taylor's University and Taylor's College campuses as well as Sri Garden Schools on 16 October 2011. Each pack consists of 6 meals. Partnered with NGOs such as Stop Hunger Now and Food for the Hungry International, we aim to pack 166,667 packs (or 1,000,000 meals) to be distributed to crisis-burdened areas or school feeding programmes.

They use webcam to interact with other University/schools that participated. Through video fees, the competition between four locations; Taylor's University Lakeside Campus, Taylor's College Sri Hartamas, Taylor's College Subang Jaya and Sri Garden Schools is really amazing.

Since I'm kinda busy with my assignment, I could not able to be part of the TEG volunteers =(

Every marketers dream is to make sure their businesses will run smoothly and success. One of the way is to get involve in promotional event. It is does not matter either your business is small or big. One of the way to market your product/services is through promotion. Most of the marketers have done a basic business promotion activity such as put up a signs and banners, hand out flyers and send direct mail. Some of the marketers are failed. Every marketers should understand what is business, what is product/services that they offered, what is the promotion all about, what type of their target customer are, what people want etc..

Marcy Twete is an independent events and marketing consultant in Chicago. She is a Chicago-based event and marketing expert shared some tips on and benefits of hosting a promotional event.

Q: Why would a business want to host a promotional event? What are the benefits?

A: Events are a fantastic way to generate interest in your business. Hosting a special event can do what no e-marketing piece can do. While e-marketing can have low response rates, events are a concentrated way to get potential and current customers in the door. At an event, you have the undivided attention of every attendee—they're in the palm of your hand, waiting to hear what you have to offer. With a promotional event, your one-on-one connection with a customer will help create ambassadors for your products and services.

Q: How far in advance should a person plan for an event?

A: At a minimum, allow eight weeks to plan an event. Given the time you'll want to spend marketing the event, potentially sending postcard invitations, calculating RSVPs and managing logistics, you'll want to give yourself ample time to plan a well-executed event. Nothing can sabotage an event more severely than poor planning. If a business is going to invest in a promotional event, it must invest time and energy to make the event a success.

Q: Is a theme necessary?

A: A theme isn't a necessity, but it can often be a clear way to differentiate your event from others in the same field. If you do choose an event theme, however, make sure it's relevant to your business and marketing message. It should add to the event and complement the event logistics, but should not be the only message your guests hear or see.

Q: Is it a good idea to tie an event in with a local or national holiday or celebration, like Consumer Awareness Week or some other recognized affair?

A: If you can connect your event with an important time for your business, you might find more success. However, the goal of any event is to attract attendees. Therefore, ensure your event doesn't fall during a time when your target customer would be least likely to attend. If your ideal customers are small-business owners who might have families, the week of July 4th might be the worst time for an event because of travel and vacations, even if it fits your business or your theme.

Q: Who should the invites go to?

A: Determine your target audience for the event. Are you wanting to keep loyal customers or are you focusing more on building a new constituency? Once you've determined your target audience, you'll have an idea of who should be invited to the event.

Q: What are the best ways to promote the event?

A: The key to promoting the event is knowing your target audience. If your target audience is current customers who frequent your location, the best way to invite them might be through word of mouth or via in-store flyers. However, if your target audience doesn't typically frequent your store, your best bet may be direct mail or e-marketing. Use the tools you have at your disposal to launch a multifaceted marketing campaign. Your website, e-marketing, direct mail and in-store collateral pieces should portray the same messaging and theme so as not to confuse potential attendees.
